Hi y'all... How appropriate that I should rejoin the Cushing's discussions
in the "drooling" thread. Vacation was a blissful break from reality and
my mouth salivates to think of it...

One symptom of Cushing's is gum disease and subsequent tooth loss which can
cause drooling. I'm not sure exactly what can be done about it, though.

But.. he some times goes through bouts of drooling.. maybe once a week
some times twice... but when I say drooling I mean allot of drooling. it
is as the stuff is a constant stream and this can last a few hours. he has
no other symptoms or problems. Is there a connection between the disease or
the cure & drooling?

age is Fragaria.. to control tooth tartar and disease.. have ordered it...my

What also helps is toothbrushing. Start 'em young. Bonnie loves to chew, and
has plenty of "approved chew articles" around. She also gets TD (dental
biscuits by Science Diet) about an hour after eating. One or two go a long way
toward keeping her pearly whites that way. Our vet marvels at her white teeth.

Hi Everyone!!

Just wanted to pass on my good news!! Schonus went thru his second
loading phase of Lysodren but we all thought that his ACTH results were
still going to be high...well, he fooled us all...His results came back
tonite and they are normal! Feel like the weight of the world has been
lifted off my shoulders. Lysodren REALLY works!!

Was really dreading the thoughts of surgery but Schonus surprised us
all! He had absolutely no side effects either. Hope all is going well
for everyone else!

Picked up Ivan's today. About the same price. Remember when "orphan drugs"
were all the rage on TV exposes'? Guess what, your choice, Lysodren or
Anipryl.

that cheap.

Scott,
If you are a member of AARP, try their Pharmacy service. I paid just under
$2/cap there for 500 mg.

Scott....

Our first bottle of 100 pills was $215 or $2.15 a pill. We had to go
thru two loading phases but now that Schonus is on the loading phase we
still have enough for 3 months providing there are no changes.

Hi my name is Karen. My 12 year old poddle was just diagnosed with cushing's
around Christmas. He is currently on anipryl. He just started the medicine on
Tuesday. I paid $78.10 for 30 day supply of his medicine. Which comes to
roughly $2.60 a pill. My vet told me there is only 1 supplier of this medicine
and he is charging a arm and a leg since it is new to the U.S. What else can
we do? Any suggestions let me know.

My vet charged me $52.00 for a 30 day wupply of Anipryl and told me that
was his cost on it. Since it didn't work for my dog, I had to change to
Lysodren and he is now charging me $2.50 each for the 250 mg size. He says
that is his cost, too. I used to work for him, dated him for a while and
am still close friends with him. He gives me all products and services at
very big discounts.
